Jennifer Upham

I am a mother of one son. I was raised in Hawai’i. I love cooking/baking, meditating, reading, the outdoors, and spending time with my fiancé and our son. I was referred by a family friend to work as a behavior therapist in 2013.

Initially, being a behavior therapist was a stepping stone. However, I fell in love with the field, everyday was different. Everyday there is something new to learn, a new obstacle to overcome, and a difference that is made. Although progress may not necessarily always be linear, we all grow and learn at our pace. I realized that not only am I making a difference in my clients and their families lives, but they are also making a difference in my life.

Seeing the difference and giving my clients the voice to be heard, to get their preferences/needs met, and to advocate for themselves is the most gratifying experience. My experience as a behavior therapist eventually evolved to a RBT and currently a BCBA since 2019. In the future, I aspire to go back to school and obtain a PhD in Clinical Psychology.
