Our Mental Health staff at Sandal Gap is committed to forming strong relationships built on trust and safety. We ensure that all of our staff members are trauma-informed to provide the best possible care available. Our therapists are trained in a wide variety of theoretical treatment modalities designed to meet the unique needs of the clients that we serve.
We work with all age groups depending on the training and skillset of each therapist. We want to make sure that our therapists will be a good match for you and your specific situation. Our therapists have the flexibility to work from whichever theoretical orientation that will best support you in the healing process.
Psychotherapy is one of the most traditional forms of therapy and is also referred to as "talk therapy". Our therapists are trained in a wide variety of theoretical orientations, which will be differ between each therapist, as well as based on what the need of the client is.
Ecotherapy, also known as "nature therapy," is a form of therapeutic treatment that can be implemented outdoor activities in nature. Our therapists will engage with their clients in a wide variety of settings and activities based on the need that is unique to the client.
Somatic therapy seeks to understand the connection between the mind and body. It is a form of body-centered therapy that combines a combination of psychotherapy and physical therapy techniques, sometimes referred to as "mind-body exercises".
Integrative/Holistic Therapy is an approach to therapy that incorporates a wide variety of therapeutic techniques and treatment modalities based on the need that is specific to the client. Integrative/Holistic Therapy unifies an individual's mental, physical, emotional & spiritual health.
Expressive Arts Therapy promotes emotional grown and healing by implementing aspects of psychotherapy while incorporating the creative process. This form of therapy is particularly useful for individuals that have a difficult time articulating what they are feeling, or that do not yet have the vocabulary to verbalize their thoughts. Some examples of this modality may be writing, music, visual arts, dancing and more!
Play-Based Therapy is typically used for some of our younger clients who have behavioral, social and emotional struggles. Play-Based Therapy allows our younger clients to express their thoughts and feelings in a safe, appropriate way. This treatment modality also can improve a young person's self-knowledge, self-actualization and self-efficiency.
We are excited to implement alternative healing methods and programs in the coming months. Some of those will include Meditation Workshops, Energy Medicine, Yoga Therapy, Guides & Coaches, along with other forms of alternative healing. Please contact us for more information!
